Zoho's Recommendations
Zoho's own official guidance for getting started with Zoho One, straight from their Getting Started series, summarized here with links back to the source so you can go deeper anytime.
Zoho's Advice, In Order
Don't configure everything at once — Zoho's own three-part sequence for rolling out Zoho One.
Set up your organization and pick your first app bundle
Start with one business goal, sales, marketing, finance, support, HR, or collaboration, and only the apps for that area. Get that team comfortable before expanding. Review your org profile (name, address, time zone, language) first, since errors there ripple into invoices, email, and reports later. Add and fully authenticate your domain in one sitting, don't stop mid-flow.
- Sales bundle: CRM, SalesIQ, Campaigns, Forms, Analytics
- Marketing bundle: Campaigns, Marketing Automation, Forms, LandingPage, Social, Survey

Add users and groups the right way
Add manually for a handful of people, import from a spreadsheet for more (standardize department names and unique emails first), or sync from an existing directory (Okta, JumpCloud, Active Directory) at scale. Group users by team or role and assign apps to the group, not each person, it scales far better. Delegate admin access by business area instead of concentrating it in too few or too many hands.
Layer in security and workflows as you go
Explore security settings (password/session rules, MFA, admin roles, sign-in policies) as-needed rather than all on day one. Expand use-case by use-case, CRM into marketing to nurture leads, finance into billing workflows, support into CRM customer data. Strengthen sign-in security after onboarding: different methods for employees vs. contractors, conditional access by location or device, and regular review of activity logs.
Seven Onboarding Pitfalls to Avoid
Straight from Zoho's own pitfalls guide.
Expanding too quickly across apps
Configure only what's needed right now.
Onboarding users before defining structure
Fixing it later is more work than planning first.
Importing employee data without validation
Standardize and test with a small sample before a full import.
Assigning broad admin privileges
Grant only what's needed per role, use service-specific admins.
Delaying domain configuration
Verification and authentication are one flow, don't stop mid-way.
Giving everyone access to everything
Build focused workspaces with access by role instead.
Leaving security until the end
Set policies and access controls before onboarding at scale.

Two Ways to Get Started
New to Zoho: free trial → onboarding tour → pick a starting category → confirm via email. Already using Zoho apps: sign in → the tour surfaces your existing subscriptions to associate.
This is Zoho's own official best-practice guidance, not ClearPath's. We're passing it along because it's genuinely good advice, and we follow the same playbook with our own clients. Full checklist: Zoho One Setup Checklist
